The wedding season is fast approaching, and it fills me with joy. Of course, there's the happiness of others embarking on a life of love and joy (and babysitters, arguments over toothpaste caps, who gets more drawers in the closet...!), but there's also this incredible celebration just waiting for us and OUR OUTFIT, OH MY! Who, like me, is ready to face old uncles and snobby cousins, as long as we can show off our beautiful shoes?
First strategy - which is mine and apparently I'm not alone! - : choose the shoes from your wardrobe and then build your outfit around them! Which little pair hasn't been worn in a long time? What will the weather be like, and therefore what material will I prioritize? Patent leather in the rain, suede or light colors in bright sunshine? And what will be the party venue? A garden will be less suitable for stilettos or glitter heels... in short: you get it: choose the shoes first, the rest will follow!
Having recently experienced it myself, the material strategy is a crucial point! I was delighted to have chosen my patent leather shoes, as I could easily clean them with baby lotion after the dirt and grass stains from a day at the park. The high heels, but with a platform, were definitely a good option: Firstly, because they garnered a series of compliments, and secondly, because they inspired admiration for being so "high up" all day! A total "ego booster"! In reality, platform shoes are comfortable and reduce the perceived height while maintaining that "wow" effect. They are stable if they aren't stilettos, which also makes walking in a garden much easier.
In conclusion, it's important to anticipate the event's setting to choose the most suitable pair of shoes. We wouldn't want to risk damaging our shoes on a lawn, or obviously, not be able to dance because the style isn't right! However, a few accessories can be useful in your handbag: silicone heel protectors to prevent sinking into the grass, for example, and of course, a pair of ballet flats for the end of the evening! Finally, you can consider silicone insoles under your toe pads (!) to gain a few extra hours of high-heeled elegance! All that's left is to do it, and we're fully supporting you! By the way, we'd love to see your outfits! In the meantime, you can, of course, choose the perfect pair on My Pretty French Shoes!
